A Latvian citizen has been detained in Kraslava County, who took seven migrants / day in the car
Border guards noticed a minivan « Volkswagen Sharan » on the Konstantinova-Skudriki motorway, led by a Latvian citizen. When examining the car, it was found that they had seven Asian origin persons without valid travel documents and valid visas and residence permits.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated against the carrier under Article 285.1 (3) of the Criminal Law for a large number of persons, that is, in one case more than five persons, with the opportunity to stay illegally in Latvia.
Seven illegal migrants « discouraged » from crossing the illegal border, which means that they have been persuaded to return to the country from which they came to Latvia.
Meanwhile, two persons were spotted in Vecsaliena parish, in Vecsaliena parish, who had crossed the state border illegally, and the border guards were forced to use physical strength, special fighting techniques and the service dog for their detention.
Initially, a cynologist with a service dog was attracted to support the border. During the search, the service dog showed traces of persons, and two persons were noticed in the forest, who, when he saw the border guard, flee. Border guards in several languages gave an order « Stay! Border Guard » and warned that a service dog would be used in the event of disobedience, but the persons did not respond and continued to flee.
When they arrest the offenders, they showed resistance, so the border guards’ appointment was forced to use physical strength, special fighting techniques and service dog. These persons were also « discouraged » from crossing the state border under Article 4 of the State Border Guard Law.
