A four -year prison / day is sentenced to a schoolmate

The Department of Criminal Cases of the AT Senate has refused to initiate cassation proceedings in a case where, at the time of the crime, the minor is accused of attempted murder of his schoolmate in the school premises.

Accordingly, the judgment of the Riga Regional Court has been sentenced to four years and six months’ imprisonment, as well as supervision of probation for two years.

As reported, in the afternoon of April 6, 2023, a call was received to the State Police to an educational institution in Imanta, where the young man was stabbed. The investigation found that a schoolmate born in 2005 was attacked by a knife with a knife. Crime may be committed because of jealousy.

It follows from the file that the accused entered the school gym in the dressing room, where he went to the victim and with the aim of killing him three targeted stitches with a knife in the abdomen and chest and one stitch in the left arm in the upper arm.

The stabbed young man managed to run out of the dressing room and escape. He was caused by serious, life -threatening injuries.

From the testimony of the victim’s young man, it can be concluded that the attacker had already threatened him five or six times to cause injury or kill if he did not interfere with a relationship with a girl.

TV3’s « Burnpoint » showed at one time that the stab’s terrorized the girl in advance, denying her to communicate with other guys. According to the young man’s mother, the girl tried to seek help, but none of the adults had taken the threat seriously.

The accused young man denied his guilt.

The judgment, which has now entered into force, has also been recovered from the accused in the amount of moral damage of EUR 12,000.
