A forest was planted in Margininkai


Over 200 participants, municipalities and elderships, foresters, community members, students of Šlienava Elementary School, Third Age University students and other guests came together. In the 2 ha area, everyone planted as much as 7 thousand. pine and Christmas trees.

The forest of the 70th anniversary is a living, growing memory left for future generations.

« This year we celebrate the two beautiful anniversaries-the 35th anniversary of the restoration of the independence of the Lithuanian state and the 70th anniversary of Kaunas district. On this occasion we are planting this beautiful forest dedicated to our country.

The mayor thanked Valdas Kaubis, Director General of the State Forest Enterprise, Darius Jankauskas, Head of the Dubrava Regional Division, and Maris Gruzdis, Head of Forestry Division for his help with a beautiful anniversary and daily concern in Lithuanian forests.

During the event, six oak trees were symbolically planted, marking every decade of Kaunas district. A stand is also unveiled, indicating that the forest of the 70th anniversary of Kaunas district is growing here.

During the forest, a good mood was created by rock chapels led by Remigijus Marma, live songs. After the work, a warm lunch – a steaming plow and broth – awaited all participants.
