A « feeling of disgust » after the announcement of the resumption of the factory by the Chinese Wanhua – Liberation

In a relentless judgment, the Commercial Court of Lyon buried this Thursday, April 10, the hope of seeing Vancorex France, flagship company of the Pont-de-Claix chemical platform, in the South Grenoblesaved by its employees. Justice has indeed pronounced the very partial recovery of this factory in receivership by a subsidiary of the Chinese giant of Wanhua chemistry, for 1.2 million euros: a single transformation workshop (Tolonates) and 54 employees at best, out of the 450 that the company under Thai pavilion was employed a few months ago.

This is the end of all the productions of raw materials hitherto provided by the company, refined salt, chlorine, soda, hydrogen, monomers, isocyanates … 250 employees will be dismissed in the coming days, after the 130 already thanked in March. The Vancorex salt mine in Hauterives in Drôme is condemned. On the side of direct vancorex subcontractors, who ensured logistics, transport, maintenance, site safety, 750 jobs are threatened in the short term. Beyond that, all the companies in the local chemical sector, dependent on Vancorex productions, are weakened, like Arkema, which has already planned, on the neighboring platform of Jarrie, to close half of its site
