A European country makes the army mandatory and for women

Denmark will introduce the compulsory military service and for women from the summer of 2026, a year earlier than initially planned, the government led by Social Democrat Mette Frederiksen announced on Wednesday, reports EFE.

The announcement comes a few hours after the Liberal Alliance Party, one of the two political forces that opposed the mandatory military service, along with the far -right -wing party in Denmark, announced that it will no longer block the initiative.

Last year, these two parties rejected the defense pact signed by the other political formations and which introduced the compulsory enrollment of women, thus causing the entry into force until 2027, after the following general elections.

The blocking of this agreement required the opposition of at least two parties, so the decision of the liberal alliance to raise its sailor will allow the military internship to become mandatory and for women a year earlier than expected.

This is 'a victory' for the armed forces, the Danish Defense Minister, Troles Lund Poulsen, said on Wednesday. 'The Danish armed forces need a broader recruitment base and it is a good idea to recruit both women and men. This minister motivated this minister.

Although not in the vicinity of Russia, Denmark has been noted under the leadership of Social Democrat Mette Frederiksen among the most active countries in offering military aid.
