A drunk driver, without a driving license, broke the cars on the S2 route in Warsaw
A dangerous event occurred on Friday after 16:15 on the S2 Express route in Warsaw, at ul. Bayk, towards Chopin Airport. Three cars collided there: Mercedes, Volkswagen and Kia convertible.
The driver was detained. He was drunk
The Mercedes driver drove very fast. When he accelerated, he led to a dangerous collision. The force of the impact into one of the cars was so great that one of the wheels broke in Mercedes.
According to the police, the perpetrator of the accident was a Mercedes driver. The man drove a vehicle under the influence of alcohol – the breathalyzer showed nearly 2 per mille. However, that’s not all. It turned out that the detainee did not have the right to drive motor vehicles. Initially, the media circulated information from witnesses that there was a pursuit. Some people thought that this dangerous criminal was running away from the police. The truth turned out to be different.
It was not the secrets that stopped the driver. Only citizens
– We didn’t chase any dangerous criminal. This is not true that any police car unmarked police car took part in this – says Kamil Sobótka, from the press office of the capital police, in an interview with « Fakt ». – In this case, there was a road incident involving three vehicles. One of the men tried to run, he was detained by citizens. When the police arrived, it turned out that the driver was not enough that he was drunk, he also had a ban on driving vehicles. He was detained.

The officers stopped him on the spot and transported him to the police station. After sobering up, further actions will be carried out with him. As a result of the collision on the route there were serious difficulties – two lanes towards the airport were completely blocked for some time. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Only for driving a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, in a state of intoxication, there is a fine, the penalty of restriction of liberty or imprisonment of up to 2 years. In addition, a ban on driving for a period of 3 to 15 years and payment for the Fund for Help Victim (from PLN 5,000 to PLN 60,000).
