« The nomination for me is unexpected and extremely important to me. It is a very important question for us Klaipeda residents, what makes us Klaipėda? The past is a reality, the source of creation, it has high moral qualities, and the main thing is to live in the truth, » said J. Saulėnienė.
The book is like a dummy
Professor Alvydas Klimas, Dean of the Academy of Arts, was chaired by the Commission of the most beautiful book. According to him, there were quite a few challenges.
« We often felt like a fashion show. Because every book was like a dummy that carried the design of a designer – author, every book wanted to appear in the most interesting and beautiful light, » Klimas said.
This nomination was also won by J. Saulėnienė’s « Klaipeda Street Stories ».
« I want to apologize to my colleagues, I feel uncomfortable. I need to thank the author and the writers of the texts, because the biggest value of the book is in the texts, » Apulskis said.
