Even babies Recognize their own name between further irrelevant cheese.
And, now show British and French researchers, dogs can too! In the scientific journal Animal Cognition to describe Researchers how they showed dozens of dogs from various breeds (and also without a race) four sound recordings from their boss, who was behind the speaker in the research room but did not look at the dog. The boss read on those recordings a text for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and said the name of the dog in two of the recordings and « come ». The boss had also recorded two recordings in ‘dog -oriented speech’ (extra high and clear) and two in a people -oriented voice. Dogs most often looked at their boss when they said their name and used dog -oriented speech and the least often often when the boss spoke people -oriented without nominating the dog by name. But the name of the dog also attracted his attention in people -oriented speech.
