Kacper, who lived in the priest, initially planned to spend time in Legnica, but eventually decided to go to the capital of Lower Silesia. There, his path crossed with two men who came from Warsaw.
There was a tragedy in the Passage of Nieport in Wrocław, in which 21-year-old Kacper Semeniuk died
The testimonies of the accused draw a picture of tragic events. After a quarrel with a group of friends, Kacper Iusif K. was to return to the car for cigarettes and a knife, which he later used in a fight. The deadly blow, inflicted in the belly of a young man, was, as experts determined, the direct cause of his death. Other injuries were not a threat to the life and health of the other participants in the event. The accused Iusif K. is also responsible for violating the bodily integrity of another participant in the incident.
The trial, delayed by the auxiliary prosecutor’s request, began on April 17
The trial that was supposed to start in March was delayed due to the request of the deceased’s family, acting as an auxiliary prosecutor. Changing the qualification of the alleged act may result in a more severe punishment for the accused. In court they both pleaded guilty. Iusif K. explained that he used a knife because of fear of his own life, suggesting that Kacper could have had a knife with him. Elmar M. expressed repentance and apologized to the family of the deceased, claiming that they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Iusif K. during the first hearing testified that the reason for the dispute was nationality. They felt insulted by the group in which Kacper was.
« My son never carried a knife with him, » Roman Semeniuk, Kacper’s father told us after the trial, « everyone who enters such a club is revised. Why did the perpetrator take a knife from the car? Asked the agitated father.
Both accused pleaded guilty; The court must now determine the circumstances of the incident
Was it really a matter of unfortunate coincidence or maybe a brutal act of violence? The answer to this question is now the responsibility of the Wrocław court, which will have to thoroughly examine the circumstances of this tragedy.
