The incident happened a month ago, and the reactions of the public and the media were so tumultuous that Mayor Ana Sam had to announce herself on Facebook.

– This afternoon, an electric vehicle lit at the main entrance to the City Hall. Some media outlets have mistakenly reported that the car was connected to the charger, which is not true. He was parked from noon, when a civil servant who uses him for his daily job has completed the shift – Sala wrote.

She pointed out that the vehicle was part of the city leasing park, that they had been used so far without a problem and that the leasing company was involved in the case resolved. However, shortly thereafter, she confirmed – Calpe will no longer use electric vehicles awarded to the Mayor’s office after the contract expires in November.

In an interview with the Cadena Sir radio station, the mayor still occupied a moderate tone.

« This was just one case, » she said, but added that the new leasing competition would be announced for other vehicles. Which exactly has not yet been decided.

– The decision has not yet been made on what it will be, whether they have to be petrol, diesel, on hydrogen or what we have now … I do not know because I do not understand that. I will leave the decision to the experts, ”Sala concluded.
