A acquitted man who has spent decades of innocent prison

Peter Sullivan, 68, lost his promise after hearing the sentence.

British spent 38 years in prison for killing a 21-year-old girl. She was sexually abused and crippled. The day after the murder on a nearby mountain, a burnt part of her clothes was found, and the passing couple told police they had seen Mr Sullivan fleeing from the bushes. After the arrest, the man was not immediately appointed a lawyer, confessed to committing the crime and later renamed his words. Still, the judges sentenced him to life prison. His words were handed over by a lawyer after the acquittal.

The man went to freedom because of scientific achievements. Last year, new forensic studies conducted with a sperm sample taken from the crime scene revealed the DNA profile, which did not match P. Sullivan.

« We didn’t win. Neither Peter nor the family of the murdered girl wore. They lost their daughter. They will not recover her. We have recovered Peter, and now we have to try to make life around him.

The girl’s killer is still not identified and has been walking unpunished for almost 40 years.
