A 64-year-old pedestrian died in an accident
Last night at 8.30 pm, a car accident occurred in the municipality of Moravske Toplice, in which one person died, the Murska Sobota Police Directorate said.
Police officers described that a 64-year-old driver was driving a passenger car along the regional road from the direction of the village of Martjanci towards the settlement Tešanovci. As he drove down Kranjčeva Street in Moravske Toplice to the intersection with Delavska Street, he drove to the crossing for pedestrians and cyclists at the moment when the passage had already crossed a 64-year-old pedestrian. The driver did not stop his vehicle before passing, but collided with a pedestrian, which then bounced into a passenger car that drove from the opposite direction. The pedestrian was so seriously injured in the accident that he died at the scene of the accident.
The Attorney General and an investigating judge who took a tour of the scene of the car accident came to the scene.
The driver of the passenger car was ordered an alcohol test, which showed a result of 0.84 mg/lv liter of exhaled air. Professional examination and detention were ordered against him. The criminal complaint to the competent public prosecutor’s office is due to suspected committing a criminal offense of dangerous road traffic against the perpetrator of the accident.
