A 19-year-old decides the game for Europe’s football crown
Paris St. Germain got Europe’s football crown – and this in an impressive way: With a 5: 0 against Inter Milan also deserved in height, the team from France’s capital won the coveted Henkelpott for the first time in its club history. The final was particularly exciting Munich Not: Luis Enrique’s team was 2-0 in front. The outstanding man was the 19-year-old Desiré Doué, who was directly involved in three goals as a template and double goal scorer. The teenager was emotionally after the final whistle: « It is my biggest dream that came true here. In my first season I succeeded and I would like to thank everyone who contributed to it. And it is only the beginning. »
The fact that the most important club duel in Europe is taking place in the Bavarian capital had become clear in the days before: the UEFA had caused a soccer prominence density that was rarely known for Munich. Stars like Lothar Matthäus, Christian Karembeau, Luís Figo, Cafu or Ruud Gullit had been seen on many appointments. In the stadium, everyone was on site on Saturday evening – this time as a spectator.
Inter Milan provided the third oldest final team – and also looks old
They got to see a Paris team that left little doubt from the start, how this game would end. PSG, which was trimmed by Luis Enrique to an almost perfect football machinethe third oldest final team in the Champions League history (30 years and 242 days on average) made it look old from the start. Paris put the Lombards under pressure early on in half, thus suffocating their game structure in the germ – and always came to good chances.
After 13 minutes, the traveling fans from France’s capital were allowed to cheer for the first time – and thanks to a former inter -professional: Achraf Hakimi, who had carried the Northern Italian jersey in the 2020/21 season, pushed in for the lead. Vitinha had intercepted the ball at the opposing penalty area and had put it on the due. It was cool enough to operate the completely freely free hakimi flat. The Moroccan only had to insert, but did not cheer out of respect for his ex-club. A little later, the template was allowed to cheer for his own goal when the lead: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia had staged with a steep pass Dembelé. He put again, and again the otherwise well-sorted inter-defensive appeared surprised – and Doue cheered over 2-0 (20th). Because Dimarco had deflected the ball, there was nothing to stop for summer.
Paris dominated the action against Inter Milan at all times
From Inter, which had worked so stable in his previous Champions League season and which was only 13 minutes behind the final before the final, little came. As soon as Italy’s top team had longer possession phases or came to good attacks, hardly any duel went to the Italians dressed in yellow exceptionally. The first real goal chance resulted from a standard situation: after a corner by Hakan çalhanoğlu, Marcus Thuram put the header next to the PSG goal (37th). Paris was closer to the third goal – and almost cheered through the ex -Dortmund Ousmane Dembélé, but the direct acceptance from a few meters went over the goal (43.).

Paris, which had accumulated 60 percent ball in the first round, began the second round just as powerful – and had the next big chance (51st) through Kvaratskhelia, but the Georgian’s shot went over it. Inter-trainer Simone Inzaghi, who seemed to be rid of the sidelines more kilometers than most of his players, reacted and brought German central defender Yann Bisseck and Nicola Zalewski for the weak Dimarco and Benjamin Pavard (54.). Nothing changed in the game: Inter hardly got any chances.
National player Yann Bisseck is injured and has to be replaced
Incidentally, the game was over for Bisseck just a few minutes later: the defensive player had injured himself and had to get out for eight minutes and three ball contacts after his substitution. Bad news for national coach Julian Nagelsmann, who had appointed the Milan to the squad for the games in the Nations League.
In the game, Paris now took the next opportunity to match the match ball after a few missed opportunities: the ball came to Doue above Dembélé and Vitinha – and he took this opportunity for his second goal this evening to 3-0 (63.). A few minutes later it was over for the man of the evening, coach Luis Enrique changed him and brought Bradley Barcola (67th). Not the worst appearance for a teenager. And his teammates? Didn’t even think about turning down a gear. Kvaratskhelia, who had given some chances, put it 4-0 on it (73.). Barcola missed his own goal after having left half the inter-defensive. His shot went next to the goal (81st). In the final phase of the game, the Paris fans celebrated a longer ball relay on their team with Olé calls. Inter, in places, looked completely helpless – and also collected the fifth goal: Barcola served Senny Mayula, who was also substituted. The 19-year-old completed 5-0 (87th). The final whistle was a liberation for the Italians – and the beginning of the big title party for Paris.
