82 years marked by deportation of Stip Jews in the Treblinka death camp
The Municipality of Stip and the Jewish community today paid tribute to 535 Jews from Stip, who were killed in the Treblinka death camp. On this occasion, a procession of the living was held, laying flowers in front of the monument to the deported Jews in Stip and a visit to the Jewish cemetery. The president of the Jewish community, Pepo Levi, noted that after 82 years of fatal night between March 10 and 11, the memories of 535 Jews from Stip who were deported and killed in « Treblinka » are still strong.

The Mayor of the Municipality of Stip, Ivan Jordanov noted that the date, when the Jews from Stip were never deported to the Death camp « Treblinka ».
« We are marking the date that should never be forgotten, but also to have a lesson to have more tolerance, coexistence and build a common society regardless of ethnic, religious or any affiliation for all, » Jordanov said.
A government delegation composed of the Minister of Local Self -Government Zlatko Perinski, Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Demography and Youth, Djoko Velkovski and Secretary of State at the Ministry of Justice, Dajancho Eftimov, MPs, MPs, were laid at the monument of deported Jews in Stip. Trajkovska, chairwoman of committee with religious communities, representatives of the OSCE, the Jewish community of Novi Sad, the Federation of Fighters and other admirers of the Jewish community in Macedonia.
