« 73 -year -old male quit at work »

« I don’t feel in itself, » says reporter Bogi Ágústsson asked about the feeling that comes with reading his last news tonight. This is a major turning point because Bogi has been on the screen for almost 50 years as he has brought news for Icelanders.

Asked about the attention of other media at this juncture, Bogi says that other threads tickle it vanity, but at the same time he did not realize why the weather is out of this.

« I have never been much for celebrating a birthday or anything like that and it is in itself worth asking for it; why is it remarkable when a 73 -year -old man stops at work. » says the bow of the germ.

He began news reading in the late 1970s and has therefore been on the screens of Iceland for almost 50 years.

Wants to avoid becoming a rocky old man

Do you think you will miss reading news?

« Certainly, this was a big part of my life for a very long time even though it has changed in recent years and I have been changing it down. I just hope I will not look up to other newswomans and think to myself; I would have done this better now, » says Bogi.

He adds that he wants to avoid in the longest law to become a rocky old man who thinks they know better.

« While you have health, I think it’s quite possible, » says Bogi.

Diligence, honesty and respect

He says another news story has sought him over the years, but he himself is little for the stuff of his methods.

« Everyone needs to find their own style, find themselves and be relaxed. It needs to be approached with diligence, honesty and respect for the subject as well as prepare well, » says Bogi.

Has escaped with a major shaft

Is there a highlight that stands up and maybe a mistake too?

« The highlights are pretty many when you have been 50 years in journalism, both enjoyable but also things that are difficult. I can say that I found it most difficult to discuss the avalanche to the west, both in Sudavík and Flateyri, » says Bogi.

As far as the mistake is concerned, Bogi says that he has escaped « fairly well » from his.

« I think this has been blessed so far. It is perhaps most important when I was a reporter in Denmark, I ever talked about mosquitoes, but they are called sheep in Icelandic. Such small errors have gone on my nerves, but luckily I have escaped a great deal.

It should be noted that Bogi is not completely in danger of Efstaleiti and will review foreign issues on Channel 1 on Thursday morning as he has done in recent years.
