63-year-old man died after he ends up in Zwarte Nete (Retie) with mowing ractor

The emergency services went to Hodonk in Retie for a tragic accident on Monday around 6.45 pm. A 63-year-old man who was mowing the grass with a small tractor was killed after the machine in the watercourse the Zwarte Nete was tilted. The exact circumstances of the accident were not yet known on Monday, but perhaps he ended up under the lawn mower. There was no help for the sixties anymore.

Mayor Patrick Geuens (Nieuw Retie), who lives nearby, was quickly on site. « The accident happened a hundred meters behind the victim’s home, » says Patrick Geuens. « The man was mowing grass near the Zwarte Nete on Monday. A comrade who lives a little further, had looked on the spot and saw the tilted tractor lying in the Zwarte Nete. The driver of the tractor had already died. »

Possibly the lawn mower without a cabin drove too close to the edge of the bank and ended up in the watercourse. But further research must matter how the incident could be done correctly. There were no witnesses in the neighborhood when the accident took place.
