If you are not sure of the correct answer, then « tight » on the options at random – a bad strategy, says UCCOA’s director Tatiana Vakulenko. Instead the expert recommends using exclusion method – to analyze all available options and take turns to get rid of answers that are the least.
”The strategy of passing the assessment « simply guess » will not produce a conscious result. You can not even score a threshold. However, the chance of obtaining at least one score for the task increases if you discard the four options that are exactly wrong. Pay attention to the details
From the more obvious, but equally important – every NMT task should be read very carefully. If you do it in a hurry, you can lose a minus before the number in the math problem. Or miss « NOT » in the question from the Ukrainian language and answer the opposite to the correct one.
Do not continue to prepare on the exam day
It is not necessary to try to prepare for the second block of NMT in 20 minutes during the break at the exam. The UCEA Director assures that during this time it will not be possible to physically cover the material that you really need for two of the following items. It is much more useful during this time to be distracted and « switch ».
