581-Anniversary of the Lezha Covenant, reconfirms the importance of all-Albanian union, as a great force
Remembrance of the 581th anniversary of the Lezha Covenant, which had a dynamics of activities and meetings that culminated with the inauguration of our national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti-Skanderbeg, the work of the Skluptor Ardian Pepa, re-confirmed the importance of all-Albanian unity. Yes, today on this day of the Besa League of Arbri Kryezotes, in this remarkable celebrations were all, from all over Albania, to prove that they divide administrative borders, but not spiritual, cultural and historical, and for less political fences.
The celebration was charged and gave meaning to the participation from all Albanian territories. They honored us with their participation, President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, President DUI in Macedonia Northern Ali Ahmeti, former Macedonian Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferri Minister of Justice Ulsi Manja, Kosovo Interior Minister Xhelal Sveçla, Minister of Industry, Daut Haradinaj, Mayor of Presevo Ardita Sinani, Mayor Ulcinj Genc Nimanbegu, Kosovo Municipalities Gazmend Muhaxherri Peja, Ramiz Lladrovci Drenas, Ekrem Kastrati Malisheve, Ferit Idrizi Vushtri, prominent fighters and activities such as Lahi Brahimaj, Lahi Brahimaj, Ruzhdi Kurtishaj, Ambassadors Skender Durmishi and Qemal Minxhozi, many friends and citizens from all Albanian -speaking territories.
An Arbëresh group from Calabria led by the head of the Italian Arberesh Union, Ernesto Madeo gave more meaning to this great day of covenant!

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani attended today the commemoration of the Lezha Covenant, which took place in Lezha.
« Today we honored the 581th anniversary of Albanian unity and inaugurated the statue of George Kastriot – our symbol of resistance and vision, » Osmani said.
Osman noted that history teaches us that unity is our greatest strength.
« Therefore, today in this city of the Covenant, rumors from Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, the Presevo Valley, the Arberesh from Italy and Albanian from other Albanian territories and from the Diaspora, with the message that the community work and the spirit of Skanderbeg should remain our national compass, were joined.
As today, on March 2, 1444, the Assembly of Lezha, organized by Gjergj Kastrioti, was held.
“Today, with my heart full of emotion and immense pride, I had the honor of being in Lezha, where our story took the road to immortality! In this holy land, 581 years ago, Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg and the Albanian princes raised the Covenant of Lezha – the great oath of freedom, dignity and survival of our nation. Kosovo's Interior Minister Xhelal Sveçla wrote in his publication: “In the Lezha of the Covenant, which gives our historic calendar to the first expression of Albanians, we gathered today by all Albanian lands to mark the 581th anniversary of the Lezha Assembly. The Lezha Assembly, held on March 2, 1444 under the leadership of our national hero George Kastrioti – Skanderbeg, delivered the clear message of the union that constitutes power. This act of unification in resistance established the example of resistance among generations, despite the opposing power. The will for freedom and independence exceeds any circumstance as it is directly related to the sense of sovereignty. “I was pleased to participate in the historical activity dedicated to the 581th anniversary of the Lezha Covenant, the symbol of unity and national resistance. This celebration, this anniversary, this statue, Lezha, the city of League in the Arberi Besa, the reset today and proves that we are one and inseparable, because we are coming out of this covenant, from this trust of our people, that trust that does not digest the soil, that promise calling out to Albania. Today, in front of his magnificent statue, we bow with reverence, but at the same time we rise stronger and more proud! History is not only our past – it is our responsibility for the future!
