400 children and young people registered at the National Competition « The World in the Children’s Vision », the 18th edition


On Saturday, April 5, 2025, the Republican Center for Children and Youth « Artico » vibrated under the energy of young artists, at the eighteenth edition of the National Competition of Fine Arts and Decorative-Applicated Arts « The world in the vision of children ». The event, organized with passion and professionalism, who brought together 400 participants between the ages of 9 and 19, eager to highlight their unique artistic talent and vision, has successfully fulfilled its proposed purpose, to sensitize the importance of aesthetic education and to stimulate the creative potential of children and young people.

Considering that the decade 2021 – 2030 proclaimed to be International Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development and The decade of the United Nations on the restoration of ecosystemsit was decided that the theme of the contest would reflect AThe institution’s institution to support the international initiative, through the educational resource. During the opening event, its generic was chosen, a special moment in which one of the participants extracted the final theme between the three initial proposals. This gesture symbolized the spirit of fairness and transparency. Thus, the generic of the eighteenth edition of the contest, is: « The forest is the green earth, the ocean-blue heart. »

The contest took place on two sections: Plastic arts and decorative-implicated arts. The participants had a variety of artistic techniques – from painting and graphics, to sculpture and design – to transpose on the work support their interpretations about the world in which they live. The works performed on formats A2 or A3 (or in volume/relief, depending on the technique) have reflected originality, expressiveness and technical refinement, according to the jury criteria set out in the Regulation.

For the evaluation of the works, a jury commission, consisting of experts in the field of plastic and decorative-applied, will be provided:

The section of the plastic arts

    • Galina Vieru – plastic artist, poet and full member of the Union of Plastic Artists from the Republic of Moldova, the chairman of the commission;
    • Natalia Bulat – teacher within the Creation Center for Children « Ghiocel », a member of the Commission;
    • Raisa Alexa – teacher, « Valeriu Poleakov » School of Arts, member of the Commission.

The section decorative-applied arts

    • Elena Frunze – university assistant and teacher at the ceramic and sculpture section, the Department of Decorative Arts and Sculpture within the Academy of Music, Theater and Plastic Arts, the President of the Commission;
    • Elena Cojocari – deputy director of cultural and educational projects at the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History, a member of the Commission;
    • Neli Turcanu – Methodist, CRCT « artico », member of the commission.

This team of specialists will evaluate the works between April 07 and 10, 2025, based on clear criteria, emphasizing the age category, sections, type of institution, but also originality, expressiveness, compositional processes and the technique of interpreting works-thus ensuring an objective, transparent and competitive judging process.

The final results of the contest will be announced on April 14, 2025, public, through the organizer’s website www.artico.md and the official Facebook Iico page.

The awards award will take place on April 17, 2025 inside the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History, Chisinau municipality, Mihail Kogălniceanu str. 82, within an official event.

Now the eyes are focused on the next stage: The opening of the winning work exhibition. CRCT « artico » in partnership with the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History, invites you to discover the artistic universe of these remarkable children and young people from April 17, 2025. The exhibition will be hosted by the museum and will remain open to the public until May 15, 2025. This will present the most successful creations within the contest, placed on places I, II and III, offering a fascinating perspective on how young artists perceive and interpret the world around them through painting, graphic, mixed technique, sculpture and design.

The contest « The world in the vision of children » has already become a tradition in the educational cultural landscape, continuing to be a space of inspiration and artistic development. The event reaffirmed, and this year, the role of art in forming the visual sensitivity and expressiveness of children, preparing them for a future in which imagination and talent will always be appreciated.
