In Sumy region, four hunters were detained while hunting for grandmothers. They are threatened with criminal liability because these animals are attributed to the Red Book.
As reported The Sumy Region Press Service, the men were exposed by a police officer of the Romny Regional Police Department and an employee of the regional inspection during a joint patrol.
Four locals aged 25 to 35 were hunted for grandmothers.
”Men have installed home-made traps in the territory« , – the message reads.
Law enforcement officers released caught grandmothers back into nature, and seized the transport and traps used by hunters.
Investigators opened criminal proceedings on illegal hunting (part 2 of Article 248 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The maximum sanction provides up to five years in prison.
