3 Bulgarian citizens living in the UK were found guilty of espionage on behalf of Russia.
According to reports in the country's press, 3 Bulgarian citizens living in the UK was found guilty of spying on behalf of Russia at the hearing where they were listened to how they were involved in a series of conspiracy in Europe.
At the hearing at the Old Bailey court in the capital London, the jury unanimously decided unanimously about Katrin Ivanova, a 33 -year -old laboratory technician Katrin Ivanova, 30 -year -old beauty expert Vanya Gaberova and 39 -year -old painter and decorator Ivanchev.
At the end of the hearing, 3 Bulgarian citizens were found guilty of spying on behalf of Russia. These people were reported to be part of a group of journalists, an old politician and a group that observed a US military base in Germany.
Prosecutor Alison Morgan said, « The defendants have gathered this information and forwarding it to the Russian state, so that you have no doubt, they have risked many lives. » He said.
The defendants will be detained until the decision to be announced on May 7-12.
A large number of devices were seized in the police investigation
The incident was described as one of the largest external intelligence operations in the UK.
3 Bulgarian citizens were arrested in February 2024 on the grounds that the London Metropolitan Police acted against the Official Secrets Law by the Anti -Terrorist Detectives and was accused of conspiring in order to espion.
On the other hand, other Bulgarian citizens 47 -year -old Orlin Roussev and 43 -year -old Biser Dzhambazov had previously accepted the accusation of espionage. Ivan Stoyanov, a 34 -year -old defendant, admitted that he had spied before the hearing.
During the police investigation, 221 mobile phones, 495 sim cards, 11 drones and phones were removed from the devices to listen to Wi-Fi activities.
