24sata in Chile: chaos on the streets because of the death of two people. Police to the stones returned to the tear gas

Tonight, protesters and police officers were clashed in Santiago, the capital of Chile, after two adolescents were killed next to the Colo-Colo Football Club stadium. About 500 protesters gathered in the wider center of the city, accusing the police for the death of a 13-year-old boy and an 18-year-old girl on the eve of Cope Libertadores between Colo-Cola and Brazilian Fortaleze.

– killers, killers! – The protesters shouted, mostly masked faces, according to the emergency police officers. The protest was organized through social networks by anarchists and radical fans, known in South America as « Barra Brava ».

They threw stones at police vehicles, and police dispelled them with water cannons. The thrown tear gas baked his eyes as the gray smoke spread through the streets.

« You go in here to your responsibility, » a phantom police officer told us over her face.

We entered in addition to the side emergency police officers with shields and armored vehicles. In the side streets, protesters were gathered with faces covered with headscarves. They threw stones and the police ran toward them with a black dog. Two masked people wrote a spray on the wall of the « cops, killers » building.

Shock and indignation were conquered by Santiago after the two adolescents lost their lives the day before. Part of the fans without tickets attacked the fence 50 meters from the stadium, trying to enter the match. The fence fell on the adolescents and demolished them, and then they were allegedly accidentally begged by a police armor vehicle that came to prevent fans from breaking to the stadium.

When radical fans heard about it, they ran on the lawn in the 70th minute and stopped the match.

The investigation is ongoing, and the camera is trying to find out if two police officers truly inflict deadly injuries to adolescents by vehicle.

« I came to express solidarity with these young people, » said a 27 -year -old protester, refusing to present himself. He claims the police broke the quiet gathering.

An intervention police officer said the protesters had been stoned by the protesters and that they only intervened afterwards.

« If they were peaceful, we would have been on the side, » a police officer said with a 15 -year internship.

« Everyone here is entitled to protest, » he added.

Francisco Candia, who presents himself as a member of the Human Rights Association « Defensoria DDHH Chile », said he had come out to the field to check that human rights were violated. He is critical of police interventions, including this use of water cannons and tear gas against protesters.

On Sunday, the biggest Chilean football derby was to be played between Universidad de Chile and Colo-Cola, but was canceled for insecurity and sorrow. On Friday, the presentation of a new Colo-Cola book was canceled.

All this happens a week before the club’s 100th birthday, which was supposed to be a big celebration. Now, however, it is questionable whether the planned activities will be held at all. In 1991, Colo-Colo won the South American Championship of Copa Libertadores under the leadership of Croatian coach Mirko Jozic, and Jozic with his family was also invited to the celebration, but canceled his arrival earlier.
