241 647 envelopes sent to voters abroad


The Central Election Commission has launched the distribution of voting sheets for Albanians living abroad, who are registered to participate in the May 11 parliamentary elections. According to the official figures published by the CEC, until today (13:50) 241 647 envelopes, 58 128 have been submitted by voters, while 8 367 arrived at the CEC.

According to the CEC, so far voting sheets have been sent to compatriots from 10 districts of the country, for Albanian citizens living in different countries of the world.

The largest number of voting sheets distributed belongs to the Tirana District with 51 520, Fier 31 752, Elbasan 25 022, Durres 24 872 and then in other counties.

Divided by states, 89 723 envelopes were sent to Italy, Greece 67 165, in Germany 25 062, in the United States of America 20 274, in the United Kingdom 16 913 etc.

Voters in the Diaspora have time to fill in and send the voting sheet by mail until the first week of May. Any vote arriving in Albania after May 11, 19:00 will be considered invalid.

The place designated for the administration of this process is the Feti Borova Sports Palace, near the Tirana Olympic Park. Voting sheets are being prepared and sent there and the diaspora vote count will be carried out.

Voting sheets will reach our compatriots in Europe from 15 to April 22 and on other continents from 15 to April 25.

After receiving the envelope with the ballot, the voter from the outside is advised to send him to the CEC within 3 days of receiving. They will not spend anything, as the mail is paid by the CEC.
