22-year-old dies on the N31 in a serious accident

An accident with a fatal episode occurred on Sunday morning around 8:30 a.m. on National Road N 31 between Niederschen and Peningen. As the police said at noon, a vehicle and a van collided. According to initial knowledge, the driver, driving towards Petingen, lost control of his vehicle through a previously unknown reason and came to the counter lane. Here it crashed into an oncoming delivery van.

Due to the force of the impact, the van was thrown into a ditch several meters. The vehicle in which a man and a woman were in such a way was destroyed in such a way that both inmates were thrown out of it.

All three people involved in the accident suffered the serious to life -threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital. Several rescue and fire trucks from the surrounding towns and a helicopter from Luxembourg Air Rescue were deployed. However, all help came too late for the 22-year-old woman-she later succumbed to her injuries in the hospital.

The public prosecutor was involved and commissioned the measurement and recognition service with the examination of the course of the accident. The N 31 was spacious for the duration of the rescue and investigation work.
