21st Cyprus Theater Festival started – Cyprus Newspaper

The “21st Cyprus Theater Festival” organized in cooperation with Nicosia Turkish Municipality, Kyrenia Municipality and Famagusta Municipality started yesterday evening. The opening of the festival was held at the Near East University Atatürk Culture and Congress Center (YDU AKKM), with the play “The Price of Bondage” staged by Ankara State Theater.

Before the play, Cem Aykut, the art director of Nicosia Municipal Theater (LBT), invited Yasar Ersoy, one of the founders of LBT for his opening speech.

Ersoy: The light of the theater promises light even in the darkest days

Yasar Ersoy, the founder of the Nicosia Municipal Theater (LBT), in his speech at the opening of the theater festival held in three cities this year, thanked the municipalities and the audience who contributed to the festival and said, “We are as long as you exist. Theater exists not only with the theater laborers”.

Ersoy recalled that the festival started with three municipalities, but the festival of Nicosia Turkish Municipality and Nicosia Municipal Theater for many years.

“In these difficult and troubled days, three municipalities showed an example of cooperation and solidarity that we all need due to democracy culture, Ers Ersoy said, the festival established an energy bridge between the three cities this year.

Ersoy emphasized that the three mayors of the festival could not participate in the opening ceremony due to the fact that the three mayors of the festival were found in Brussels.

Ankara State Theater’s ‘Price of Conditions’ game was applauded standing

The opening play of the festival and staged by the Ankara State Theater “The Price of Bondage” was applauded by the spectators who filled the hall, and the performances of the players were greatly appreciated. Within the scope of the festival, which will last until June 30, the games will be staged in Nicosia, Kyrenia and Famagusta.
