The devil first planned to look like an actresses to each other, but quickly realized how hard it would be. Instead, during the rehearsal, they designed a common laughter – the same laughter that united them as sisters.

No matter what the first film was, Zapit says he was not an intimidated task to screen a novel, nor a pressure that carries Jane Austin. « I was young and reckless. I didn’t feel pressure because of the acet, but to make the best movie I could. »

The film stored the action in 1797, the time the novel was written instead of 1813. when it was published. Grinwood says the film is more in Georgian style than regent era. « The BBC version is very regent, with tightened corsets and highly raised waists. »

Benet’s household is shown as lively, noisy, a lot of interviews. The devil wanted to create an atmosphere in which they all speak in the same mah. Inspiration for dialogues he drew from Robert Altman, but he says that he was not a goal to controll – but to show the reality of that home.

The house is far from great and tidy – it is full of mud and animals that walk freely, which clearly indicates the lower status of the family compared to Darcy and his friends.

House Longborn was actually a property called Grumbrids Plays. The interior was reconstructed – the dark walls were prefarted, but with the effect of age and worship, because the family did not have money to rearrange everything. « The furniture was worn, the covers worn – it was all planned, » says Grinwood.

Mr. Benet’s office, snuffled corner with books, reflects his personality. He gave him a hobby that is meaningless – hinging orchids, which was popular then, but without practical purpose.

The costumes Elizabeth consciously resisted from the others. While other sisters carry pink and pastel tones, she wears brown. Her hairstyle is short in the back – which was rebellious at that time. « She doesn’t fit into traditional women’s wealthy norms more interested in the ideas and mind than gender roles, » Vrajt says.

In the famous scene in the rain, when Darsy declares love Elizabeth, she refuses and follows a turbulent, fast discussion. « We worked as a musical trial – everything was in rhythm, » Zita explains. The devil looks forward to the successes of young actors from the film. « I can’t say I’m proud, because I’m not entitled to that. But I’m very happy for them. »

The interest in the acet continues to last – Netflix is ​​doing a new series « Pride and Prejudice » – but the 2005 version. It still attracts the audience.

« It is still fresh and beautiful as well, which is a rarity. Some movies grow old quickly – this one is not, » Grinwood concludes.
