2 Israeli Embassy employees died in an armed attack – Cyprus Newspaper
The armed attack in Washington, the US capital, reportedly died in Israel’s Embassy in Washington.
US Internal Security Minister Kristi Noem, X account said in a statement, two embassy employees were killed in a « meaningless » way near the Jewish Museum in Washington.
Noem said that the incident was examined, « We will deliver this immoral perpetrator to justice. » He said.
US Federal Investigation Bureau (FBI) Director Kash Patel said in a statement that the armed attack occurred near the FBI’s Washington Field Office.
Stating that they are working with the police to intervene in the incident, Patel announced that they will continue to inform the public.
US President Donald Trump, in his sharing on the armed attack on his social media account, expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the attack, saying “hate and radicalism has no place in the US”.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio condemned the armed attack on the X and said, ız Our prayers (those who lost their lives) with their loved ones. ” He said.
On the other hand, Israel’s United Nations Permanent Representative to the United Nations Danny Danon X, claiming that the attack was “anti -Semitic terrorist act”, the US authorities asked for a “strong” action against those responsible for the attack.
Speaking at a press conference, Washington Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith said the attacker was 30 -year -old Elias Rodriguez.
Smith said that Rodriguez was detained and that the suspect shouted “Free Palestine” after being detained.
