2.3 on IMDB: After the controversy, the first figures for ‘Snow White’ are dramatic. And that is not really surprising

While one reviewer is talking about « a sleepy film », it sounds « like spending a day in the mines ». It is not strange that the film has to do it without too much applause. Even before he appeared in the halls, the film was dominated by controversies. Take Rachel Zegler, the 23-year-old lead actress who was initially the dreamed Snow White.

Until she started to be critical about the film in interviews. For example, she has a distinct opinion of how Snow White should be played. It would not be a love story at all, but a parable about a princess who « becomes the leader she could always be, » said the actress. She also thought it was strange that someone would like to marry a stalker. « A man is playing with it, Andrew Burnap, a great guy. But it’s not all about the love story at all. Who knows, all his scenes will be cut out. It’s Hollywood, baby! »

And not only with the fans, but also some of the original makers were talking about « that Walt Disney would turn around in his grave ». The commotion forced Zegler to come back to her statements and to frame them.

In the past, she spoke to her support several times for Israel, while Zegler has expressed her support for Palestine since the war.

But apart from approved actresses, there was also a problem with the film itself. Seven problems to be precise. Because no matter how Disney in 2025 did his best to avoid sore toes, they almost crushed them. Cause? Only an actor with dwarf growth and a much too large portion of computer effects.

Everything added together with a delay of about two years: the chance that the film will make a profit with its $ 250 million is small.
