14,000 participants in the company run in Augsburg: team spirit and adrenaline

Around 14,000 participants went on a 5.3 km route around the exhibition center by Göggingen and the Univiertel on Tuesday evening. The fastest participants made the distance in about 15 minutes, but in principle there were fun and the team idea was in the foreground.

Among other things, the tax office was at the start. The preparation? Especially eating well, it says with a wink. « There was still a pasta party today, » says Rainer Fendt. « Because no fight without a Mampf, » adds his colleague Eva Martims with a laugh. Most of the participants of the over 50-member patch have been running for ten years. The goal is minimal. « It is enough if we all get to the finish, » said Fendt.

With the sun around the bet, Katja Mayer shines in the afternoon when the exhibition center gradually fills up. « The weather is like painted, » laughs the organizer of the M-Net company run, which she launched 14 years ago and who has become an integral part of Augsburg. Such an event must of course be meticulously organized. Important especially security. A large police and security contingent is visible. « You have to be prepared for everything, » says Mayer. The former triathlete knows what she is talking about. Last year the company run surprised a huge storm. « The runners had to be evacuated, » said Mayer. On the other hand, everything runs like clockwork on this May evening. Around 8 p.m., when the majority of the runners passed the finish line, Mayer draws a positive balance without incident.

The file of need, the reader aid organization of our newspaper, has sent 140 runners into the race. « We also considered running under the motto » 80 years of Augsburger Allgemeine « , » says Andreas Schmutterer, the chairman of the management in Augsburg. Schmutterer looks into the bright blue sky: « Great, today is great runner weather. » Schmutterer reminded It is reluctant to see the past year: “It was already violent with the storm. Press spokesman Dominik Schmitz and his colleague Felix Wörle lead the field. « We are there with 40 people and are hot for the run, » reveals Schmitz in advance. However, he restricts: « I hardly ran this year and not in shape at all. » That is why he stacks deeply when you talk to him about your personal goal. « If I need five minutes for a kilometer, I would be satisfied. »

For Madeleine Hajdarevic, Tanja Peters and Amir Parhez, the fun of the company run is in the foreground. The trio that starts for the government of Swabia is still calmly in the deck chairs in the afternoon and lets the sun shine on its body. Around 20 runners start for the government of Swabia. « One half has a time goal. The other half lets it go easily, » smiles Hajdarevic. It is easy to see at which half the trio belongs. « The main thing is that the weather is nice, » grins Tanja Peters.
