14 departments of East in orange alert this Sunday afternoon-Liberation
Third day lightning. Fourteen departments in the Northeast and Center-East will be vigilant orange this Sunday, June 15, from 2 p.m. for risk of thunderstorms, according to the latest Météo France bulletin. The departments concerned are Ain, Ardèche, Doubs, Drôme, Isère, Jura, Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin, Rhône, Haute-Saône, Savoie, Haute-Savoie, the Vosges and the Territoire de Belfort.
« This afternoon and this evening, new strong thunderstorms are expected » on these territories, with « Intense precipitation of around 30 to 40 mm in an hour, hail, strong gusts and significant electrical activity », warns Météo France in its 10 -hour bulletin.
Orange vigilance is activated until 10 p.m. Sunday with an expected lull « Before the middle of the night », specifies the meteorological agency.
Fifteen departments of the Center and the East had already been placed on orange vigilance on Saturday afternoon before being downgraded to yellow vigilance by Météo France on the night of Saturday to Sunday.
Violent thunderstorms fell on a large part of France between Friday and Saturday, causing the death of a man in Grandchamp (Yvelines) and a serious injured in Paris on the night of Friday to Saturday.
