13 errors crept into a minobra of the Narva schools
In early May 2025, the Ministry of Education and Science of Estonia approved the act of administrative supervision of secondary schools in the city of Narva. However, already two weeks later, on May 22, the ministry had to issue a separate order that corrects the initial document as many errors – from inaccuracies in numerical data to incorrect interest and diagrams.
The editors of the Narva Newspaper sent an official request to the Ministry of Education with a request to comment on the situation. The response was provided by the head of the legal and personnel department of the Ministry of Rain Loom.
Causes of errors: human factor and haste
According to Loom, the “human factor” and work under pressure from the deadlines are based on the mistakes made. Several employees worked on the document at the same time, which led to technical inconsistencies and discrepancies:
“The acts contained the correct initial data, however, when indicating the percentage, errors occurred. This was a result of parallel work on the same file by several employees, ”she explained.
Are there any problems in the control system?
When asked whether such a scale of corrections to system failures in quality control indicates, Loom replied that the ministry has a constructed process of coordination and approval:
“The draft of the act is prepared by the supervision team and is coordinated by several specialists: lawyers, directions, as well as external officials. However, due to compressed terms and simultaneous access to the file, technical errors arose. ”
To prevent such cases in the future, the ministry has already revised the process of working with files, setting a clear sequence of responsibility and limiting the parallel editing of documents.
Errors did not affect conclusions
Despite numerous inaccuracies, the ministry claims that the essence of the act was not distorted and all the conclusions and the requirements were in force:
“Mistakes did not affect the results of supervision. Nevertheless, we apologize to all parties and increase control over the quality of such documents, ”Laom said.
The ministry assures that he will continue to devote more time to thoroughly checking the data and internal discussion, as well as continue to apply multi -stage control – both from pedagogical experts and specialists in the field of law.
