12th Yigitler Gafgarit Festival was held yesterday – Cyprus Newspaper
Değirmenlik-Akıncılar Municipality organized by the 12th Yigitler Gafgarit Festival was held yesterday.
According to the statement made by the municipality, Yigitler August 16 Freedom Park at the festival, guests from all over the country was hosted. At the festival where food and beverage stands were established, group frequency concerts gave concerts.
At the festival, Değirmenlik-Akıncılar Municipality Özle Türkel Social Activity Center Folk Dance Center Folk Dance Group Kozan 1 Group, Özle Türkel Social Activity Center Children’s Choir, Seyyah Dance Project, Değirmenlik-Akıncılar Municipality 5th Season Life Choir, Özle Türkel Social Activity Center Golden Hearts Choir School, Değirmenlik-Akıncılar Municipality Dilekkaya Muhittin Legal Gymnastics Association, Mesarya Stars Culture and Sports Association Gymnastics Group, Miller-Akincilar Municipality Ozle Türkel Social Activity Center Gymnastics Group and Milling-Akıncılar Municipality Young Music Orchestra took the stage.

Republican Turkish Party deputy Sıla Usar Incirli in his speech at the opening, all the festivals of the Municipality of Değirmenlik-Akıncılar said that all the festivals have become a brand, they have always made their differences, he said.
Pointing to the fertile soil of the Mesarya Plain in the heart of Cyprus, Incirli said that the vast plains equipped with golden yellow give peace to both the region and the country.
Referring to the importance of the village of Yiğitler, the benefits and characteristics of the Gafgari grown in the region, İncirli congratulated everyone who contributed to the festival that provides the culture, traditions and customs.
Incirli pointed out that the area where the festival was held is the disabled friend and thanked the Mayor Ali Karavezirler who created the places that embrace everyone.

The fertile soil of the village of Yiğitler, who stated that he is known with his hardworking people, thanked everyone who participated in the festival organized in Yiğitler, which is one of the important villages of the town with his culture, art, history and valuable names.

Speaking on behalf of the Women’s Association of Beautification, Development and Cultural Activities of Yiğitler Village, Zehra Güçlühan stated that the GAFGARIT Festival is not only an entertainment but also a meeting in which culture, history and values are transferred from generation to generation.
Stating that the village festivals do not only provide traditions, it also strengthens social solidarity and reinforces friendships, said:
“These lands are remembered not only with their blessings but also with the artists and values they have grown. Mehmet Ertuğ, the master name of the Shadow Game, should not forget Sevil Emirzade and Münise Özgür Mulla, who shed light on the past with his books.”
