120 environmentally friendly buses will be purchased, most of Skopje, the government’s press service informs

The Government today adopted information on the procurement of 120 environmentally friendly buses, 80 of which are urgently needed to rebuild the JSP-Skopje fleet and improve public transport, and the remaining 40 will be distributed in accordance with the economic justification and the real needs of each of the local self-government units.

-The Government reviewed and adopted the information from the Ministry of Transport regarding the letters of interest submitted by the local self -government units on the need to procure environmentally friendly buses for public transport. Given the funds provided as part of the Ministry of Transport Budget for this purpose, 120 environmentally friendly buses are provided, 80 of which are urgently needed to rebuild the JSP-Skopje fleet and improve public transport, and the other 40 will be allocated according to the economic justification.

The procurement of environmental buses for public transport, the Government added, will contribute to improving the quality of services for citizens, as well as reducing air pollution in municipalities, sustainable development and environmental protection.
