« 115 euros because I had forgotten my own name »: Flemish is viral with Tiktok video on extra costs at Ryanair

The 27-year-old Wieb Craps recently booked tickets for a city trip for her and some girlfriends, she says in a tap video that has been viewed more than 40,000 times after just eight hours. « This morning I thought: I’m going to check if I didn’t write the names of my girlfriends wrong. »

It soon became apparent that she had not made any mistakes. At least: not with her friends. « Then I looked again … You can’t believe that? I wrote my own name wrong. I had forgotten that my name was Wiebigje and had written Wieb in the place. I have to pay 115 euros to adjust that. 115 euros because I forgot my own name. »

How is that possible? « 27 years ago my parents gave me a name that nobody has ever used, » says Craps in the video. « Wieb is an abbreviation for my real name. Normally I would not just throw it on the internet, but it is what it is … My real name is Wiebigje. But for 27 years I have been going through life as a wieb and my real name is not actually used. »
