100 years of life story

Irena was born in 1925. April 25 In the village of Šilalė district, Smalkvičius, a large family of farmers in Bronislav and Aleksandra Ragauskas: had two brothers and four sisters. The jubilee lost his father in his teenage years, so he had to do hard farm work from an early age.

At the age of 21, he married Jonas Trumpiškis. Unfortunately, Irena’s family happiness was shaken by deportations launched by the Soviet Union. 1951 October 2 Together with her husband and two children, she was stalled and sent to the Krasnoyarsk region, the Soviet farm of Užuro. According to Soviet orders, only Irena was deported to Siberia, and her husband and children would have been left in Lithuania, but the family did not want to differ. The first year of exile for the family was particularly difficult: the man was taken out to cross the forest, and Irena was left alone with young children, often lacking food. However, I. and J. Trumpiškės were hardworking people: purchased animals, built a house; He had three other daughters in exile.

After Stalin’s death, the family was rehabilitated, but could not return to their homeland because they were deported to Siberia without the right to return to Lithuania, so they moved to Latvia, the village near the sweet city. Two years later, in 1962. in the spring, returned to Lithuania and settled in Babtas.

In the homeland, Irena, as an exile, was not allowed to work even on the animal farm, so they worked as an auxiliary worker.

Already living in Lithuania with her husband, he received another offspring – son. Today, the centenary is happy with six children, fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great -grandchildren, and two more will soon be born. Unfortunately, Irena’s eldest daughter died a year ago.

Irena was very fierce five years ago, constantly reading books, enjoying knitting – all grandchildren and great -grandchildren had her knitted socks.

For many years the anniversary participated in the elderly ensemble of the Babt Cultural Center – was a great dancer and a wonderful storyteller. Her daughters inherited these talents from her mother.

Although physical health does not complain about the centenary, as he says: nothing hurts, memory is limping. The seniors live with her son’s family in the same house that her husband built with his own hands.

« Mom’s greatest joy is now our hugs, tenderness and kisses she loves very much. Our dad is no longer a long time ago, but we always remember how good a person was, great, » Regina shared his centuries -old daughter.

The entire 100 -year -old family is united by communion and endless love, which Irena and her husband John instilled his children from a young age. The jubilee herself promised to live for a long time. « I will definitely get 114, » Irena said.
